Portland Metro area fireworks: July 4, 2008!
Yes, it's time again for our country's birthday. No cake, no presents. But we want lots and lots of firepower and explosions!! Let me guess, do you think maybe some men are behind this holiday tradition...?
- Waterfront Blues Festival fireworks show: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 10-10:30pm
- Oaks Park fireworks: show begins at 9:55pm
- Fireworks at Blue Lake Park: Park is open all day, music from 6-10pm and the fireworks begin at dusk. $6 per vehicle or $12 for large vans.
- Fireworks at PGE Park: Right after the Beavers games.
- Fireworks and music at Vancouver National Historic Reserve. This one's the Big Kahuna Burger of fireworks displays in Portland Metro. The 30-minute fireworks show is accompanied by live music. The show starts at 10:10 PM. $4/person suggested donation.
- Lake Oswego Fireworks: Millennium Park Plaza at 9:45pm
- Tigard Fireworks: Tigard High School at 9:45pm.
Now, over at our house -- we'll have an award-winning display of snakes, and my husband will play accompaniment on a harmonica... Be safe everyone!!

You can wander over my way for some crazy eyeballs, climbing pandas, Mr Turtles, and my favorite, the exploding rock a bye baby.
I actually bought these this year. I can see this as growth or as a rapid decline in my parental judgment.
