My kids have spent a few days at the Willowbrook arts and music camp in Tualatin this summer. My 6.5 year old daughter loves it -- she gets to choose what to do each day: clay, nature, painting, music, dance, you name it. One day she came home with this:
It's one of the more creative uses of egg cartons I've seen. She made a clay nest embedded with grass for the pom-pom chicks. Individual eggs were made by cutting out the egg holders in the carton and taping them on one side so they open and close. I think it's just darling, and she loves playing with it.

You've seen this done a million times before, but I would have never thought to do it at home (which is why preschool teachers are priceless). What are some other creative craft projects or uses for egg cartons?
