Here's the scoop on free and nearly free ice cream

Here's hoping warm weather will descend upon us next week, because there will be free and nearly free ice cream to be had.

On Tuesday, April 29, ice cream cones will be free at Ben and Jerry's in honor of the company's 30th birthday. Yes, free ice cream. Cherry Garcia. Chunky Monkey. All day. Did I mention it will be free? Check the Ben and Jerry's website for locations.

The next day, Baskin-Robbins will be selling one-scoop cones for just 31 cents in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which remembers America’s fallen heroes and assists their families. Baskin-Robbins will be making a $100,000 donation to the organization. The 31-cent cones will be available between 5 and 10 pm on April 30.
