I love swaps, and I'm so excited that someone is hosting a toy swap in SW Portland! It's actually a Swap-Shop-Share event, and this is how it works. 1) You can either bring in gently used toys, books and games and swap them for like-valued items brought in by others. 2) You can just come and purchase items that others have brought in, and the money you spend will be donated to one of three charities (see attachment). 3) If you bring items to swap and don't see anything you like, leave your items and they will be sold to shoppers, with the money going to charity! Who benefits? You, other families in our community, the environment and the non-profit organizations who will receive monetary donations and any items left over. Here's the low-down:

Here's what they will accept: toys (please keep all accompanying pieces together in a zip-loc bag); books; movies; puzzles; video games; computer software; large outdoor equipment (free of dirt); bicycles, scooters and roller skates in good working condition.
Here's what they won't accept: clothing; fast-food kid's meal prizes; toys with missing pieces; toys that are stained or don't work; battery-operated toys without batteries; items with torn stickers; pen-marked items.
