In my quest to be on the alert for rainy-day indoor activities, I came across a miniature golf place downtown called Glowing Greens. If you're thinking turning windmills and unnaturally green AstroTurf, think again. Glowing Greens is designed around an island adventure theme and features animated sets and special black lights that make everything glow. You can even wear 3-D glasses for an enhanced experience.
We haven't ventured there yet, partly because I'm not sure it's suitable for small kids. From what I can see on the website, it's dark and a little eerie, and there's one room that has a lunging, teeth-baring shark. The place apparently is set up for fun corporate parties (it is located downtown), although they do have party rooms that look appropriate for kids. Prices range from $5 to $8.50, depending on age.
Has anyone tried Glowing Greens?

I had not heard about this, but interestingly, I was just the other day wishing we could go out and play mini golf as a family. I was hoping it'd be fun and a little bit physical and within everyone's abilities. Alas, I don't think my kids would do well with anything even slightly scary, so we'll probably just wait until the standard windmills and astroturf places open in the spring/summer...
